I first inquired to AAY early January of 2019. I found them on google and felt confident they could possibly be a good fit with my business and would be able to provide me with the funding I needed for my project.
The initial communications after inquiring were mostly productive but I sometimes had difficulty understanding why certain information was not available to me. I later realized after speaking with my attorney that the protocol they were following was correct and that within the financial industry certain information is not publicly available to protect clients and the lender. Other than having the occasional hiccup due to myself wanting details information the process went smooth.
I would occasionally think of the people of AAY as my friends as they were always happy and encouraging. Funny enough, there is an employee in the Inquiry Department who is also called Kevin. Ms. Cruz who runs the Inquiry Department is always on top of matters and has a vast amount of knowledge, she also is very timely with respect to ensuring that the timeframe discussed would be followed. She would even apply pressure on me if I was the reason for delay, she made me feel comfortable as if my project was her own. She understood the drive and passion not to mention the details. She ensured all details were understood and covered, there was no chance for issue with the way she kept everything moving.
Once, Ms. Cruz had got my project to a position where it could be inputted to the Review Committee, she introduced me to Mr. Davis who was the Senior Project Director. Mr. Davis is a very straight forward type of guy and does not like excuses. I was taken back by the way he operates as it feel very methodical and almost army or military like. There was a list of steps and no ability to deviate. At first this was infuriating as I wanted to feel in control but as the process went on, I gained an understanding to why he kept each step one after the next. The speed at which the process was moving was amazing and there was never a time where I had to wait on AAY or Mr. Davis. Also, he is very quick with communications. He would be always reply whether it was email, telephone call, or even WhatsApp. The ability to work with someone as skilled as he is gave me the comfort that I could follow his advice without needing to worry.
One of the aspects which I feel solidified my success was the structure of the costs involved. When I began I was concerned as I did not feel I could afford the funding. Each lender would always ask for the costs involved to be covered however AAY was the only one that provided me with options and explained the pros and cons of the options. The even let me have a mixture fo two options as Mr. Davis calculated that a certain formulation would best fit my project needs and would provide me with extra benefits.
I made small part payment on the first few steps and then obtained the assistance of a Bridge Lender which was placed into an Escrow Account. The Escrow Account was one of the selling points for me as I did not want any risk nor did I want to be in charge of the closing costs. Therefore with them being placed into the Escrow Account, I was able to know that I had full control because the funds were held to my order but I also knew that the funds could not disappear or get lost with my current working capital.
The Due Diligence stage was one which I was afraid of as in the past I had heard horror stories from acquaintances that had applied to different lenders who during the due diligence would make up issues or problems which would result in the funding failing. However with AAY, the Due Diligence was quick and simple. They had a lawyer in the country meet with my attorney who then worked with my team to make sure everything required for success within the central bank as well as my company structure was in the best format. AAY even instructed their lawyers to help us upgrade and future proof certain aspects of our company as they didn't want us to have issues later down the line. The Due Diligence was a quick and easy process and only took some time due to my team making the recommended future proofing.
The most exciting moment of my life happened next, I woke up and had an email from my Bank manager asking me to come to the branch to sign the documents to have the funds active in my company account. This was not an AAY step but a requirement in my bank. To be honest, I never thought this day would ever come. I had been searching for years to find a real lender and thankfully I found AAY.
Many months have passed since I obtained the funding and I am now only just getting around to writing this posting. I cannot thank AAY enough for providing me the helping hand no one else would give me. They are truly the reason I have a successful project currently under construction.
